Isoltex registers its first two DAPcons®, positioning itself as one of the benchmarks in sustainability in the textile insulation sector

22-11-2021

Isoltex was born in 2016 with the intention of being a leading player in the thermal insulation sector from recycled textile fibers. Only 5 years after its constitution, they have decided to develop the EPDs for their Epotex and Ignitex / Plafotex products, textile solutions for the insulation of vertical partitions in general and for ventilated facades respectively.

To prepare these reports, the product category rule (RCP) for thermal insulation products (manufactured and formed in-situ) UNE-EN 16783: 2017 has been followed.

The registered DAPcons® are the following:

  • DAPcons®. NTe.103 of the Epotex product felt based on textile fibers joined with thermoduring resins of thermoplastic origin (with different treatments) and normally made up of cotton fibers. This type of felt is used as a thermal and acoustic insulator in the construction sector and as a sound absorber in the automobile sector.
  • DAPcons®. NTe.104 of the Ignitex / Plafotex product: felt based on light cotton fibers. The fibers are bonded with a thermosetting resin of the phenolic type normally fireproof. It is a material of plant origin that a fire-retardant agent is added during the manufacture of the felt. The difference with mineral solutions is that in the manufacturing process of our felts the raw material is recycled.

The company Marcel Gómez Consultoría Ambiental, an affiliated member of the DAPcons® Program, has been in charge of preparing this DAPcons® subsequently verified by ITeC. It is valid until 10/28/2026.

This DAP is cradle to door with options, including all life cycle stages (A + B + C + D).

The DAPconstrucción® Program was born in 2008 with the aim of bringing together manufacturing companies that wish to advance in the analysis of the environmental impacts of their products and commit to environmental improvement
