The Catalonia Ecodisseny Award 2023 recognizes products on the market and in development designed, manufactured or executed in Catalonia that integrate into their design considerations to improve their environmental behavior throughout their life cycle. It mainly values the incorporation of eco-design strategies and the contribution to the circular economy, design quality and innovation.
It is aimed at designers, product manufacturers or students from Catalonia (who are located or have their domicile or registered office in Catalonia)
The registration period for the Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2023 is from November 15, 2022 to December 15, 2022 at 11:59 a.m. (GMT + 1.00)
In this edition, the prize consists of 3 categories:
Product: Product / service on the market, designed or manufactured / offered in Catalonia, taking into account environmental considerations in its development process, with the aim of minimizing its impact on the environment throughout its entire cycle of life Any natural or legal person located, with domicile or registered office in Catalonia, can apply.
Product under development: Project of a product/service, not produced or commercialized, but in the prototype or pilot phase, designed with environmental considerations in mind, with the aim of minimizing its impact on the environment throughout its life cycle. The natural or legal person who promotes the development of the product or the designer with domicile or registered office in Catalonia can apply.
Young design: Product / service on the market or under development that is developed by students or new graduates, taking into account environmental considerations in its development process, with the aim of minimizing its impact on the environment throughout its entire life cycle. Any natural person who is studying or has completed regular high school or vocational or university studies in Catalonia can apply. In the case of people with degrees, those who have completed their studies in Catalonia, with a date no earlier than October 1, 2020, can participate.
In this edition, the financial endowment of the Award has been increased to 33,000 euros divided into 15,000 euros for the Best Product Award, 15,000 euros for the Best Product in Development Award and 3,000 euros for the Best Young Design Award, being a 120% higher than the previous edition.
