La Viuda registers 2 average product type DAP of its PVC and aluminum slats for the manufacture of blinds


La Viuda is an international firm of Alicante origin that manufactures and markets solar protection solutions for construction and architecture. Its firm commitment to innovation has allowed it to grow continuously since its founding, 1928.

The company not only offers a high-quality final product ready to be installed, but also makes all its know-how available to the rest of the blind manufacturers who wish to do so through products such as the blind slats that are the object of these DAPs.

The DAPs registered in the DAPcons program have been the following:

• DAPcons®.100.052, aluminium slats for the manufacture of blinds.
• DAPcons®.100.053, PVC slats for the manufacture of blinds.

The LCA on which this EPD is granted is of the "cradle to door" type. It covers stages A1 extraction and processing of raw materials; A2 transport to the manufacturer and A3 manufacture of the product.

Specific data from the La Viuda plant (Sax - Alicante) corresponding to the year 2019 have been used to inventory the manufacturing stage, that is, the highest possible quality of data.

The included product does not release hazardous substances into indoor air, soil and water during the use phase. It also does not contain substances included in the European Chemicals Agency's Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern for Authorization.

Regarding factory-generated waste, these are included as non-hazardous waste on the European List of waste with the following LER codes: 17 04 02 Aluminium and 17 02 03 Plastic and cardboard.

The ETRES company has been in charge of carrying out the analysis of the life cycle of the products and the drafting of these DAPcons® which, subsequently, have been verified by ITeC. They are valid for five years, until 2026, and are based on the Construction Products Category Rules RCP100.

The DAPcons® Program was born in 2008 with the aim of bringing together manufacturing companies that wish to advance in the analysis of the environmental impacts of their products and commit to environmental improvement.
